Foreign national driver licenses may not be used as photo identification for voting purposes under Section 17-9-30.

Foreign national licenses must include a designation distinguishing between those with lawful permanent residence and those with temporary authorized stay in the United States.

Applications for foreign national licenses must be processed only at driver license offices designated by the Secretary of the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency.

Foreign national licenses expire on the date of expiration of the applicant's immigration documentation and must be renewed by re-initiating the full licensing process.

The act becomes effective June 1, 2025.
