Amends Section 26-17-636 of Alabama Code to allow child-support orders entered within the first year after a child's birth to be retroactive to nine months prior to the birth of the child.

Limits a parent's liability for past support to two years preceding the commencement of an enforcement action, unless a support order was previously entered.

Clarifies that child-support orders cannot be entered if the child is not born alive.

Makes technical and nonsubstantive revisions to existing code language, including reorganization of provisions regarding court fees and costs in paternity proceedings.

Act becomes effective October 1, 2025.
