AL SB204

Requires all insurers offering dental benefit plans or health benefit plans with dental coverage in Alabama to allow beneficiaries to carry over unused annual benefit maximum dollars into the succeeding year, effective January 1, 2026.

Limits accumulated carryover amounts to a maximum of two times the annual benefit maximum in effect for the preceding year.

Requires claims incurred during the current year but paid in the succeeding year to be subtracted from the current year's annual benefit maximum.

Allows insurers discretion to establish terms, limitations, and conditions governing the carryover provision, subject to the accumulation cap requirement.

Becomes effective October 1, 2025, and authorizes the Alabama Department of Insurance to adopt implementing rules.
