The Sheriff of Mobile County shall administer and supervise all electronic monitoring of pretrial defendants in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of Alabama.

The Sheriff of Mobile County is prohibited from contracting with any other entity for the provision of electronic monitoring services.

The Sheriff may establish administrative and supervision fees to fund electronic monitoring programs for pretrial release, alternative sentencing, intervention, supervision, or other court programs, with sole authority to determine fee amounts.

All fees collected from individuals placed in electronic monitoring programs shall be deposited into the county general fund.

The act becomes effective on June 1, 2025.
