SB266 Summary

• Amends Section 29-2-41 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to clarify that occupational and professional licensing boards, commissions, and agencies are subject to contract review by the Contract Review Permanent Legislative Oversight Committee.

• Removes the requirement that review of personal or professional services contracts be limited to those paid out of appropriated funds issued on a state warrant, expanding oversight to all occupational and professional licensing board or commission funds.

• Expands the definition of "state department" to explicitly include occupational or professional licensing boards, commissions, and agencies for purposes of contract review requirements.

• Becomes effective October 1, 2025.
