SB275 Summary

• Mobile food vendors must meet all licensing and inspection requirements only in the jurisdiction where they establish their permanent commissary (fixed parking location) effective October 1, 2025.

• Mobile food vendors are exempted from obtaining separate licenses, permits, inspections, or other permissions in any other jurisdiction where they temporarily operate throughout the state.

• Mobile food vendors remain subject to all applicable municipal zoning ordinances at all times regardless of location.

• Defines "commissary" as the fixed location where a mobile food vendor is parked when not in use and "mobile food vendor" to include food trucks, trailers, and non-motorized carts regulated by the Alabama Department of Public Health.

• The bill supersedes any conflicting state or local laws, rules, regulations, or ordinances requiring separate temporary business licenses or inspections in multiple jurisdictions.
