County and municipal government agencies, boards, commissions, departments, employees, and officials with discretionary accounts must publish all discretionary account funds and expenditures monthly online.

Full-time state officials with county-level accounts (including sheriffs, judges of probate, court personnel, circuit clerks, boards of registrars, district attorneys, tax officials, and absentee election managers) are subject to the same publication requirement.

Information must be posted in a prominent location on the official public website of the county, municipality, entity, or official.

If no official website exists, information must be posted on the appropriate association or agency website: Association of County Commissions (county entities), League of Municipalities (municipal entities), Administrative Office of Courts (clerks/judges), Office of Prosecution Services (district attorneys), or Alabama Sheriffs Association (sheriffs).

The Chief Examiner of the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts shall prescribe rules for publishing discretionary account information; the act becomes effective October 1, 2025.
