Amends sections 45-37-72.20 and 45-37-72.21 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to modify procedures for filling Jefferson County Commission vacancies.

Requires the election commission to adopt a resolution within seven days of a vacancy specifying that the first primary election be held 45-60 days after adoption, with a runoff primary election at least four weeks later and a general election 3-5 weeks after the last primary election.

Establishes that when a vacancy occurs with more than six months remaining on the unexpired term, the position remains vacant until the next scheduled countywide general election, though a special primary election may be held to qualify candidates.

Allows the election commission to schedule primary and general elections on dates of previously scheduled countywide elections if time requirements are met, with special ballots available through the judge of probate.

Repeals sections 45-37-72.22 and 45-37-72.23 relating to election dates and becomes effective on June 1, 2025.
