AL SB35

Amends Section 13A-6-241 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to expand the definition of sexual extortion by adding a new third offense.

Adds criminal liability for anyone who knowingly threatens to release or transmit any photograph, digital image, video, film, or other recording of sexually explicit conduct in order to compel or attempt to compel a victim to do or refrain from doing any act against their will.

Maintains sexual extortion as a Class B felony.

Defines "sexually explicit conduct" by reference to Section 13A-12-190 for purposes of the statute.

Becomes effective October 1, 2025.
