Permits health care providers (pharmacists, physicians, optometrists) to disclose treatment and drug cost information to patients, including estimated costs, insurance coverage amounts, cost-sharing details, and less expensive alternatives.

Allows health care providers to share professional opinions on treatment costs, comparative effectiveness of available treatments, and alternative or off-label use options within standard of care.

Prohibits health insurers and other contracting entities from canceling contracts, penalizing, or taking adverse action against health care providers for disclosing cost and treatment information to patients.

Makes contract provisions that restrict health care providers from sharing cost information or impose penalties for such disclosures unenforceable in Alabama courts.

Effective date: October 1, 2025.
