Municipal court magistrates must annually audit and recall outstanding Class B and Class C misdemeanor warrants that have not been served within 10 years of issuance.

Circuit court clerks must annually audit and recall outstanding Class B and Class C misdemeanor warrants that have not been served within 10 years of issuance.

The warrant recall requirement does not apply to sex offenses, domestic violence, offenses involving deadly weapons or dangerous instruments, or offenses associated with felony charges arising from the same facts or circumstances.

Law enforcement agencies must be notified when a warrant has been recalled.

The act becomes effective October 1, 2025.
