Highlights notable contemporary Caribbean Americans and descendants including Harry Belafonte, Cicely Tyson, Eric Holder, General Colin Powell, and former Vice President Kamala Harris who have contributed to politics, medicine, entertainment, and sports

Acknowledges the Central Alabama Caribbean American Organization, formed in 2011, which promotes Caribbean culture in Alabama, supports Caribbean student education, has awarded 21 scholarships, and received grants from the Alabama State Council on the Arts
