Commends the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) in Muscle Shoals, Alabama on its 50th Anniversary of contributions to global agricultural sustainability.

IFDC was founded in 1974 in response to a global food crisis affecting nearly 500 million people, established with funding from Canada's International Development Research Centre and the U.S. Agency for International Development, and land from Tennessee Valley Authority.

Over 50 years, IFDC has trained millions of smallholder farmers in sustainable soil practices and currently operates offices in Africa, Asia, and Europe, working in nearly 100 nations.

IFDC employs over 500 people worldwide including 60 in Alabama, operating a pilot plant and research labs that develop and test fertilizers for efficient and scalable solutions.

The Legislature honors IFDC and conveys highest tribute, heartiest congratulations, and best wishes for advancing soil health and agricultural productivity.
