SR54 establishes the special order of business for the Alabama Senate on Thursday, April 3, 2025 (the eighteenth legislative day), with precedence over regular order and pending business.

Bills to be considered include SB85 on vaccine religious exemptions for K-12 and higher education students; HB168 on local emergency management mutual aid agreements; and SB174 on business tax reporting requirements and Alabama Tax Tribunal jurisdiction.

Additional bills on the calendar address sex offender employment restrictions (HB27), municipal electric authority director compensation (HB160), candidate economic interest filing requirements (HB250), sales and use tax exemptions (HB191), and health care provider cost information restrictions (SB43).

Multiple sunset law bills are scheduled for consideration, including continuations of the State Board of Podiatry (HB109 until October 1, 2029), Speech-Language Pathology Board (HB108 until October 1, 2029), Manufactured Housing Commission (HB113 until October 1, 2029), Electrical Contractors Board (HB115 until October 1, 2026), and Marriage and Family Therapy Board (HB117 until October 1, 2027).

SB197 addresses technical changes and corrections to the Alabama Business and Nonprofit Entity Code related to electronic filing and name reservations.
