Expands the Board of Trustees of the Department of Archives and History from the current structure to 17 members: one from each of Alabama's seven congressional districts, nine at-large members, and the Governor or designee

Shifts appointment authority from the board itself to elected officials: the Governor appoints district representatives and two at-large seats; the Speaker of the House appoints four at-large seats; the President Pro Tempore of the Senate appoints four at-large seats

Requires two at-large appointments to come from nominees provided by minority party leaders (one each from House and Senate Minority Leaders)

All appointed members serve six-year terms at the pleasure of their appointing authority, with staggered start dates between 2025 and 2030

Applies retroactively to January 1, 2025 and takes effect immediately upon passage
