Conecuh County Superintendent of Education position changes from elected to appointed by the Conecuh County Board of Education, effective after the term of the superintendent holding office on June 1, 2026

Appointed superintendent must meet all qualifications prescribed by Alabama general law and will perform all duties and exercise all powers granted under general law

Superintendent salary to be set by the county board of education, paid from public school funds, with the board having discretion to grant additional expenses during the superintendent's term

Repeals Acts 1923, No. 163 and Acts 1959, No. 524, which previously governed the election, qualifications, powers, and duties of the Conecuh County Superintendent of Education
