Home school students may enroll in career and technical education (CTE) programs at public schools beginning with the 2027-2028 school year

Home school students must enroll as nontraditional public school students and pay course fees equal to those charged to enrolled public school students

Public school students receive enrollment priority when CTE programs have limited capacity; home school students are considered after current public school students

Full-time, stand-alone career and technical education schools are exempt from the requirement but may voluntarily opt in to allow home school participation

State Board of Education and local boards must adopt rules and policies to implement the program; effective date is October 1, 2026
