2% salary increase for all Alabama state employees beginning with the first payday on or after October 1, 2026

Covers classified and unclassified state employees, hourly workers, judicial personnel, legislative personnel, and county health department employees under the State Merit System

Excludes local supplements for judges and local employees whose salaries are tied to state employee pay

Excludes Merit System or hourly employees covered by labor agreements or contracts

Requires appropriations to be made through the annual budget act; effective immediately upon Governor's approval
