Adds three new capital offenses to Alabama law: rape in the first degree, sodomy in the first degree, and sexual torture when the victim is less than 12 years of age

Applies when the perpetrator is 16 years of age or older and the victim is under 12 years old

Defendants sentenced to life imprisonment for these capital offenses must serve a minimum of 30 years before first parole consideration

Officially titled the "Child Predator Death Penalty Act"

Effective date: October 1, 2026
