Montgomery County Judge of Probate is authorized to establish procedures for making limited purchases using a credit card issued to the Probate Court's Office for tangible personal property or services.

Required written policies must include monetary limits on individual purchases and total monthly spending, restrictions on credit card access to the judge or designee only, and accurate record-keeping subject to audit review.

Monthly credit card bills must be reviewed by the judge of probate for unauthorized charges and paid in full to avoid service charges, late fees, or interest.

Credit card provider selection must consider annual fees, rewards/rebates offered, interest rates and penalties, and termination fees.

Any rewards or rebates earned from credit card use must be deposited into the Judge of Probate Fund; the act takes effect immediately.
