Marion Military Institute may establish an associate's degree program that includes the basic training curriculum required for law enforcement officer certification through the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC).

Graduates receive provisional certification as Alabama law enforcement officers upon graduation, which converts to full certification when hired full-time by an Alabama law enforcement agency.

The provisional certification period must be at least six months; if the graduate is not hired by an Alabama agency before expiration, the provisional certification lapses and the individual must complete standard commission training.

Students enrolled in the program are not required to be employed by a law enforcement agency during their studies, and the institute will be recognized as an official Alabama law enforcement training academy.
