Creates the Municipal Firefighters' Bill of Rights, allowing municipalities to adopt local ordinances establishing rights and procedures for personnel issues with municipal firefighters

Establishes minimum standards for investigations of firefighter misconduct that could result in termination, demotion, or loss of pay, including requirements for interrogation location, recording, single interrogator, reasonable time limits, and the right to have an attorney or uninvolved department member present

Requires official departmental charges to include specific alleged conduct, date/time of misconduct, witness information, and rules allegedly violated before any formal disciplinary proceeding can occur

Prohibits requiring firefighters to disclose personal financial information (property, income, assets, debts, expenditures) for themselves or household members as a condition of promotion or job assignment

Protects firefighters' right to engage in political activity when off duty and prohibits penalizing firefighters for exercising rights under this act; effective October 1, 2026
