Expands legislative security personnel responsibilities to cover the new Alabama State House, the legislative parking deck and park between South Union Street and the new building, and official legislative events held off-site anywhere in Alabama.

Coordination for new State House security assigned to the Secretary of the Legislative Council, Secretary of the Senate, and Clerk of the House of Representatives.

Off-site event security must be designated by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and Speaker of the House in coordination with the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency.

Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency responsibility for perimeter and entry point security extended to include the new Alabama State House in addition to the existing building.

Effective date: October 1, 2026.
