Authorizes rounding of in-person cash transaction totals to the nearest five cents (e.g., amounts ending in 1-2 round down, 3-4 round up to 5, 6-7 round down to 5, 8-9 round up)

Rounding applies only to cash payments, not to electronic funds transfers, checks, gift cards, money orders, or credit cards

Sales price, sales tax collected under Section 40-23-26, and any surcharges, assessments, or fees remain unaffected by the rounding

Department of Revenue must post notice on its website when rounding authorization begins

Effective immediately upon passage
