Local board of education employees must be paid semi-monthly (on the 1st and 16th of each month) beginning August 1, 2027, with payments made one payday in arrears

When pay dates fall on weekends or holidays, payment moves to the last prior workday, except for October 1st which moves to the next workday

Local boards may opt out by passing a written resolution and filing it with the State Superintendent of Education within 60 days

The Comptroller, State Superintendent, and State Board of Education must adopt implementing policies

Annual compensation rates shall not be reduced due to the change in pay schedule; effective date is July 1, 2026
