Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) must establish a voluntary designation on driver licenses and nondriver identification cards for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or other communication disorders

ALEA is required to create a discreet symbol to be placed on the license or card of individuals who request the designation

Individuals seeking the designation must provide proof of diagnosis from a physician licensed to practice medicine in Alabama

ALEA is prohibited from charging any fee solely for adding the medical condition designation
