Officer Knecht began his law enforcement career in Bessemer in 2000 and transferred to Mountain Brook Police Department in 2003

Safe Schools Leadership Award was presented at The Alabama Association of School Resource Officers (TAASRO) Conference held June 2–6, 2025, attended by approximately 1,200 school resource officers and administrators

Recognized as a TAASRO School Safety Specialist, an elite designation held by only 15 officers statewide

Named 2025 City of Mountain Brook Employee of the Year on January 21, 2026, at the Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce Annual Luncheon
