Joint resolution commending the Alabama Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (ASDAR) and the Alabama Society Sons of the American Revolution (ALSSAR) for their service to the state and nation

ASDAR was established in 1894 and currently has more than 4,000 members in 71 chapters across Alabama, affiliated with the national DAR organization of 185,000+ members

ASDAR founded and continues to support the Kate Duncan Smith DAR School in Grant, Alabama, established in 1924, which now serves more than 1,300 students in a rural, economically disadvantaged region

Both organizations engage in historic preservation, veteran support, educational scholarships, and patriotic programs honoring Revolutionary War heritage

Resolution passed the House on January 22, 2026 and was adopted by the Senate on February 10, 2026
