Creates the Alabama Mental Health Task Force to evaluate and recommend long-term policies for improving mental health care in the state

Task force membership includes 11 members: one psychiatrist (appointed by Governor), one clinical psychologist (appointed by Lt. Governor), four legislators, chairs of budget committees, the Commissioner of Mental Health, the State Health Officer, and one probate judge representative

Responsibilities include collecting mental health data, evaluating existing resources and gaps, developing intervention programs, reviewing workforce sufficiency, and exploring mental health impacts on education, employment, and public safety

First meeting must occur within 30 days of passage at the Governor's call; final report with findings and recommendations due to the Legislature by November 1, 2026, after which the task force dissolves

Legislative members receive compensation and travel expenses; nonlegislative members serve without pay but may be reimbursed for meeting-related expenses
