Captain Johnson joined the Mobile Police Department in 2006 and has served as patrol officer, motor officer in the Traffic Safety Unit, supervisor in the Second Precinct, and unit commander for the Cyber Intelligence Unit, Real-Time Information Center, and Crime Scene Unit

Recognized throughout his career with the Distinguished Service Award, multiple Excellent Police Duty Awards, Chief's Unit Awards, Chief's Commendations, Life-Saving Awards, and Officer of the Month recognitions

Holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminal Justice and Russian Language, plus a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of South Alabama, where he serves as part-time faculty

Led community outreach efforts addressing homelessness in Tillman's Corner, connecting individuals with identification services, housing assistance, employment opportunities, veteran support, and health care through partnerships with organizations like One Meal Mobile and First Step Initiative
