Alabama Legislature commends Ron Ingram for more than 50 years of dedication to Alabama high school athletics as a newspaper reporter, editor, columnist, and AHSAA communications director

Ingram served as communications director of the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) from 2007 through 2025, an organization serving more than 400 member schools since 1921

Created the statewide All-State football team while at The Dothan Progress, which evolved into ASWA All-State Teams for multiple sports, and helped establish the ASWA Mr. Football Award in 1982

Received numerous honors including the ASWA Herby Kirby Award (1987), ASWA Bill Shelton Award (2006), and the Mel Allen Media Award from the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame (2017)

Inducted into the Wiregrass Sports Hall of Fame, ASWA Hall of Fame, and AHSAA Hall of Fame
