Hammon represented District 4 in the Alabama House of Representatives beginning in 2002 and served as House Majority Leader for six years (2010-2017)

Chaired the Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee and served as Vice Chair of the Economic Development and Tourism Committee

Worked as an electrical contractor after earning a degree from Calhoun Community College and was a member of numerous business organizations including the Business Council of Alabama and U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Resolution offers tribute to his life and service with sympathy extended to his surviving family, including two sons and a daughter
