Joint resolution mourning the death of The Honorable Hannibal McNeill "Mac" Gipson, Jr., who passed away on July 6, 2025, at age 89

Gipson served four terms in the Alabama House of Representatives representing Autauga and Elmore Counties, serving on the House Education Appropriations Committee and Travel and Tourism Committee

Appointed Administrator of the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board in January 2011 by Governor Robert Bentley, overseeing more than 800 employees and 168 retail and wholesale stores until retirement in 2022

Founded and operated Gipson Auto Tire, Incorporated in Prattville, Alabama, and held leadership positions including Chair of the Alabama Tire Dealers Association, Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, and Prattville Millbrook Sunrise Rotary Club

Resolution passed the House on January 29, 2026 and was adopted by the Senate on February 12, 2026
