Alabama Legislature commends Dr. Lloyd Walker for 33 years of service at Alabama A&M University as professor, dean, and research director, recognizing his retirement effective January 1, 2026

Dr. Walker, originally from Port Morant, Jamaica, earned degrees from Prairie View A&M University and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, with foundational research contributions to the poultry industry including electrical stimulation techniques for accelerated tenderization

Held multiple leadership positions at Alabama A&M including department chair, interim associate provost, registrar, and in 2014 became Dean of the College of Agricultural, Life and Natural Sciences and Director of 1890 Research
