Alabama formally recognizes nursing, physician assistant, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, audiology, social work, public health, education, counseling, architecture, accounting, and engineering as professional careers

Responds to a U.S. Department of Education proposal to narrow the definition of "professional degree programs," which would exclude these occupations from the federal professional degree list

Urges the U.S. Department of Education to reconsider the proposed reclassification and restore these fields to professional degree status

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to the U.S. Secretary of Education, Alabama's Congressional Delegation, and relevant federal and congressional committees
