Commends Anita Haggerty on her retirement as Tallapoosa County 911 Director after 34 years of dedicated service, beginning October 1, 1991

Haggerty previously worked as a paramedic with East Alabama Medical Center EMS before being recruited to help establish the county's 911 system, which went online in 1994

Trained hundreds of dispatchers in Public Safety Telecommunications, Emergency Medical Dispatch standards, and CPR during her tenure

Implemented technological upgrades including the Tallapoosa County 911 GIS office and Enhanced 911 (E911) for improved cell phone location tracking

Will return as a part-time employee in February 2026 to continue supporting the agency
