Commends Roberta Swann on her retirement as Director of the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program, effective January 31, 2026

Swann served the program since 2004, first as Deputy Director, then as Director since 2009, providing more than two decades of leadership

Under her leadership, more than $100 million in federal, state, local, and private funding was invested in Alabama's estuaries and coastal watersheds

Developed comprehensive watershed management plans covering all intertidal watersheds in Mobile and Baldwin Counties and guided approval of the program's third Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan

Received honors including the Alabama Wildlife Federation Conservationist of the Year Award, U.S. EPA Certificate of Recognition for 25 years of service, and the Gulf Coast Marine Environmental Excellence Award
