Taught as an elementary teacher at Blountsville Elementary School for 20 years beginning in 1978, then served as Curriculum Coordinator for Blount County Schools from 1998 to 2009

Worked with the Blount County Education Foundation for 28 years, serving as Executive Director for the last 17 years

Under her leadership, the Blount County Education Foundation provided over $15 million to support students and teachers through donations, endowments, and grants
