Recognizes Alabama Army National Guard Staff Sergeant Ronald Wayne Hurst upon his retirement in April 2026 after more than 20 years of military service

SSG Hurst served in the U.S. Navy from June 1987 to June 1990 in the Naval Presidential Ceremonial Honor Guard, performing duties at Arlington Cemetery funerals and guarding Department of Defense Secretary Dick Cheney

Reenlisted in the Alabama Army National Guard in December 2005 as a Horizontal Construction Engineer, serving with the 1312th Engineer Detachment, 168th Engineer Company, and Fort McClellan Training Center

Promoted to Specialist in 2012, Sergeant in 2014, and Staff Sergeant in June 2024; currently serves as a Horizontal Construction Engineer Instructor at the 3rd Battalion, 200th Regiment

Passed by the House on February 12, 2026 and adopted by the Senate on February 25, 2026
