Dr. Hodges served as an educator and hospital administrator across Alabama, New Mexico, Texas, Kentucky, and North Carolina

Education included Gulf Coast Community College, Emory University's Candler School of Theology, Troy State University (double Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and History, Master's in Educational Administration), Auburn University (Ph.D. in Educational Leadership), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Hospital Administration), and University of Texas (Community College Leadership)

Served as principal at Midland City Elementary School and pastored for six years before pursuing advanced education

Survived by wife Rebecca Elaine Sutton Hodges (married more than 61 years), two children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild
