Troy University named Jones Hall, a health care education building, in his honor for his lifelong support of the institution

Jones and his wife Frances founded the King's Kids Foundation in 2008, providing literacy and arts enrichment opportunities for children in Monroe County

The resolution officially records the death with sadness and extends sympathy to his surviving wife of 23 years, four children, and 13 grandchildren
