Recognizes February 24, 2026, as Crime Survivors Speak Alabama Day, coinciding with more than 250 crime victims and survivors traveling to the State Capitol in Montgomery for the Survivors Speak Alabama 2026 event

Event organized by Crime Survivors Speak and Just Safe to allow victims and survivors to heal together, share stories, and advocate for policy changes

Highlights that only 8% of violence survivors receive direct assistance from victim service agencies, dropping to 4% when crimes go unreported (which occurs in more than half of violent crimes)

Calls for Alabama to invest in trauma recovery centers, additional victim assistance programs, and comprehensive plans to address root causes of violence

Directs copies of the resolution to be presented to Crime Survivors Speak and Just Safe organizations
