Honors Mrs. Veronica Curtis-Richie as the special guest at the Rosetta James Foundation's 20th Annual "Honoring Our Elders Day" Gala on March 14, 2026 at the Jackson Center in Huntsville, Alabama

Mrs. Curtis-Richie is a lifelong Huntsville resident who earned degrees from Alabama A&M University in Special Education, Speech Pathology, Learning Disabilities, and School Counseling

Served 34 years in Huntsville City Schools in various roles including learning disabilities teacher, drug education coordinator, school counselor, and curriculum specialist before retiring in 2010

Following retirement, worked nationally as a Professional Development Trainer with the Military Child Education Coalition supporting military families across the United States and Guam

Serves as Treasurer for North Alabama Community United for Action, is a Silver Life Member of the NAACP, and serves as Deaconess and ministry leader at First Missionary Baptist Church
