Alabama House Resolution honoring Mr. Willie Smith as special guest at the Rosetta James Foundation's 20th Annual "Honoring Our Elders Day" Gala on March 14, 2026, at the Jackson Center in Huntsville

Mr. Smith is a Madison County native with 28 years at Goodyear Dunlop Tires and prior work at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama A&M University, and University Volkswagen of Huntsville

Known as "The Old School Cowboy," Mr. Smith is a descendant of a Buffalo Soldier of the 10th Cavalry and performs reenactments and storytelling during Juneteenth celebrations

Mr. Smith is also an actor, writer, and director who authored and staged "Were You There When They Crucified My Lord" and performed in "Crowns" at the Von Braun Civic Center

The Rosetta James Foundation honors community volunteers age 70 and above and raises scholarship funds for students demonstrating volunteerism, academic excellence, and civic engagement
