Pastor Cox founded Church of Life in 1995 after personally preparing the building with family and volunteers; the first service was held October 8, 1995

The church paid off its mortgage within 11 years of ministry, and the Elder Annie E. Cox Community Center opened in 2017

Pastor Cox holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations from the University of Alabama and a Master's degree in Theology Studies from Spring Hill College

He was consecrated as Bishop of the Church of Life congregational ministry in 2022 and currently serves as a guest reviewer on Gospel 900 WGOK's Sunday School Lesson broadcast
