Alabama House Resolution commending Anita Haggerty on her retirement as Tallapoosa County 911 Director after 34 years of dedicated service

Haggerty began her career on October 1, 1991, before the 911 system was operational, and spent three years ensuring every county road was named and addresses were accurate before the system went online in 1994

Trained hundreds of dispatchers in Public Safety Telecommunications, Emergency Medical Dispatch standards, and CPR throughout her tenure

Implemented technological upgrades including the Tallapoosa County 911 GIS office and Enhanced 911 (E911) for improved cell phone location tracking during emergencies

Haggerty will return as a part-time employee in February 2026 to continue supporting the agency
