Dr. Stewart founded Huggs and Kisses, Inc., a day care center in Birmingham that provides care for sick children so parents can return to work, as well as specialized care for children with special needs

Dr. Stewart earned her Bachelor's degree from Tuskegee University and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham

Dr. Stewart established Mission Hugs, Inc., a foundation that awards scholarships and provides tuition assistance for families with limited funds who need childcare services, special equipment, or medicine
