County commissions, municipalities, and local utility boards (waterworks, sewer, gas) may bypass competitive bidding requirements for vehicle repairs under specified conditions

Exemption applies only to vehicles with gross weight rating of 12,000 pounds or less and repairs costing $15,000 or less per incident

Awarding authorities must still obtain and document price estimates from at least two vendors before awarding the repair contract

Each vehicle repair is treated separately; exempted expenditures cannot be combined with other repair costs to circumvent the threshold
