Marshall County Sheriff authorized to sell abandoned and stolen personal property through Internet auction in addition to traditional public auction, after property remains unclaimed for 12 consecutive months

Sales must occur at least every six months, with notice published in a local newspaper for two successive weeks or posted at the courthouse for at least 20 days prior to the sale

Sheriff required to maintain permanent records of all abandoned or stolen firearms, including description, serial numbers, and recovery location, and must make reasonable efforts to locate owners including notifying surrounding counties

Unclaimed firearms may only be sold to federally licensed gun dealers through sealed bid process, with proceeds (minus expenses) going to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office; sheriff may alternatively destroy firearms
