Reduces the minimum VA disability rating required for veterans' dependents to qualify for the Alabama G.I. Dependent Scholarship Program from 40% to 30%

Establishes a pilot program beginning January 1, 2027 allowing up to 100 dependents annually to qualify even if the veteran was not an Alabama resident prior to military service, provided the veteran has at least a 50% disability rating and 5 years of Alabama residency

Pilot program participants will be prioritized based on the veteran's disability rating, with higher ratings receiving priority

Pilot program expires December 31, 2028 unless extended by the Legislature

Act becomes effective June 1, 2026
